About Coincheur
Updated
Coincheur is a free coinche game (belote coinchée, belote contrée), online since June 2026. Its goal: to get you playing, and above all improving, like on a chess platform, with no tokens or stakes, and with respect for your privacy.
What Coincheur is
Coincheur runs in your browser, on phone and computer alike, in English or French. You play it in three ways: against AIs at four levels, with your friends in a private room opened with a link, or against other players at a public table, with an Elo ranking. A classic belote mode, with a turned-up card, rounds it off.
Around the game, everything is built to help you improve: an on-demand coach against the AI, a school of ten lessons with quizzes, ending with a game alongside the coach, bidding and card-play drills, a daily challenge and a move-by-move analysis of your games. A score counter also keeps score of games played with real cards.
Our principles
- A coach that isn't dogmatic. It suggests a move and explains why, but its views are pointers, not truths: several moves are often defensible. In the drills, a card almost as good as its own even gets the top score.
- Your rules, not ours. Coinche isn't played the same way everywhere: target score, No Trump, All Trump, générale, the rule on playing a trump when you can't overruff, direction of play, scoring options. Everything is set in the ⚙️ menu, and a room with friends uses its host's rules.
- No tokens, no stakes, no in-game purchases. Games are played for points, with no real money or virtual currency, and no feature is paid.
- Your privacy first. No account, your game stays in your browser, no measurement cookie without your consent, and an anonymous measurement you can switch off. The details are in the privacy policy.
- Exact rules. The game engine applies the full scoring (162 points per deal, belote worth 20, a bid capot worth 250, coinche and surcoinche), and automated tests check that the site's guides never contradict it.
Since when?
Coincheur has been online since June 2026: the very first daily challenge, number 1, is dated 25 June 2026. The game has grown since then, step by step: playing with friends via a link, public tables and their Elo ranking, quick reactions online, classic belote, a layout made for big screens, and many guides to learn coinche.
What is still missing
Coincheur isn't finished, and we would rather say so: your progress stays on the device you play on (no sync between devices yet), and declared melds (tierce, fifty, hundred) are not supported. Coinche is played here with numbered bids from 80 to 160, then capot and the générale.
