Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-26. Publisher: Coincheur. Contact: contact@coincheur.fr. — Version française.

This policy explains which data is processed when you use Coincheur (the "Service"), for what purposes, on what legal basis, and what your rights are. It complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act.

1. Data controller

The data controller is the publisher of Coincheur (see the legal notice). For any question regarding your data: contact@coincheur.fr.

2. Data processed and purposes

a) Data stored locally on your device

The game is "local-first": your progress stays on your device (your browser's / the app's local storage) and is not transmitted to our servers (we have no game server). The following is stored locally: your display name, your statistics and your daily-challenge streak, your settings and preferences (including language and your consent choice), your game history and your points counter. Purpose: to run the game and keep your progress. Legal basis: performance of the service you request.

b) Audience measurement

To understand how the Service is used and improve it, we use:

Purpose: audience statistics and improvement. Legal basis: your consent (Google Analytics); legitimate interest for aggregated and anonymous measurement (Ahrefs).

c) Advertising

The Service may display advertising through Google AdSense (Google Ireland Ltd.) in order to remain free. The advertising scripts and the associated cookies/identifiers are loaded only after your consent (banner, see §5); if you decline, no advertising is loaded. An "Ad-free" purchase may be offered later. Learn more about how Google partners use data: policies.google.com.

3. Recipients and transfers outside the EU

Audience-measurement data is processed by our providers (Google, Ahrefs). Some may be transferred outside the European Union (in particular to the United States); these transfers are governed by the mechanisms provided for by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses, Data Privacy Framework). The site is hosted by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.).

4. Retention period

Local data is kept on your device until you delete it ("Erase my data" button in the app, or clearing your browser storage). Audience-measurement data is kept for the periods set by our providers (generally 14 months maximum for Google Analytics).

5. Cookies and trackers

On first launch, a banner lets you accept or decline audience-measurement and advertising cookies. As long as you have not accepted, Google Analytics and advertising (Google AdSense) remain disabled ("Consent Mode" defaulting to denied). You can change your choice at any time by clearing the site data. Cookies strictly necessary for operation do not require consent.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and the right to withdraw your consent at any time. As most of your data is local, you control it directly from the app. To exercise your rights: contact@coincheur.fr.

You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (French data protection authority, www.cnil.fr).

7. Minors

The Service is for the general public (a card game, with no real money) and is not specifically aimed at children. No data is knowingly collected from minors under the age of 15 without parental consent.

8. Changes

This policy may change (in particular before advertising is enabled). The version in force is the one published on this page, dated at the top.
