Which site to play belote coinchée for free?

Updated

The right belote coinchée site depends first on who you want to play against: alone against the AI, with your friends, or against strangers at a public table. Here is what to check in each case, and what Coincheur offers, for free and with no sign-up.

Alone against the AI: judge your partner first

Against the computer, you play with an AI partner against two AI opponents. Your partner matters as much as the opponents: if it bids nonsense, you go down in contracts that should have been safe. Check that it supports your bids sensibly and that you can choose the difficulty.

On Coincheur you set the level (Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert) and the style, from very cautious to very aggressive. At Expert level, the AI simulates the rest of the deal before it plays. The details are in play coinche against the computer.

With friends: a link, no account

To play with people you know, a good site lets you invite them with a simple link, without forcing everyone to sign up. You also need to be able to play with two or three people, since coinche is a four-player game.

On Coincheur you create a private room, share the link (or the 6-character code) and your friends land straight at the table. Empty seats are taken by an Easy or Medium AI, and the room uses your rules (target score, No Trump, All Trump). It is all explained in play coinche with friends online.

Against real players: public tables and Elo ranking

Fancy taking on strangers? Pick a nickname, then "Find a table": Coincheur looks for other players, and the AI fills the free seats if nobody turns up within a few seconds. These games count towards an Elo ranking: each win moves you up, more so against strong opponents, and a loss moves you down.

The ranking also shows two fixed-strength reference points, an Easy AI and a Medium AI, which are not ranked themselves: you can see where you stand compared with them.

To improve, not just to pass the time

Many players also want to get better: check whether the site explains your mistakes. On Coincheur, a coach gives advice on request during your games against the AI, targeted drills (bidding, card play, attack or defence) can be replayed as often as you like, a daily challenge gives everyone the same situation, and "My games" analyses your decisions move by move. To go further, see practise coinche with drills.

FAQ

Can you play belote coinchée for free against real players?

Yes. On Coincheur the public tables are free: you pick a nickname, a table forms with other players, and the AI fills in if needed. You can also invite your friends to a private room.

How does the Elo ranking work?

Only public table games count. A win raises your rating, more so when your opponents are highly rated, and a loss lowers it. Your first game at a public table puts you on the ranking.

Do you need four people to play with friends?

No. With two or three of you, the AI takes the empty seats. With two, your friend sits opposite you: you play together against two AIs.

Belote coinchée, coinche, belote contrée: is it the same game?

Yes, they are regional names for the same game: a four-player belote in two teams, with numbered bids and a coinche that doubles the contract value. That is the game you play on Coincheur.
